Auction Sheet Translation
Auction sheets contain the following sources of information that will help you to understand the condition of any particular vehicle. These sources are Grade, Interior and Exterior Rating, Vehicle Chart, and Vehicle Specifics.
Grade
This is a rating of general vehicle condition. This takes into account exterior and interior condition, as well as mechanical condition. Grades are from 0 to 5 and also include A, R, and X. The following explains what each grade rating means.
4.5 - 5.0 - Near new condition, extremely low kilometers. Will not be found on 15 year old vehicles unless collectible condition.
4.0 - Extremely good condition with very few imperfections and with low mileage.
3.5 - Good condition, some imperfections, low mileage.
3.0 - Average condition. May have some minor body damage, or higher mileage.
2.5 - Very high mileage or lots of body damage.
2.0 - Lots of body damage, very high mileage, rust.
1.0 - Modified grade, lots of aftermarkets, may have engine swap.
0.0 - Repaired vehicle.
A, R - Repaired vehicles, in previous accident.
X - Ungraded vehicle.
Interior and Exterior Rating
Most auction houses give a rating for interior and exterior of vehicles. This rating will be A, B, or C, with A being the best and C being the worst. A can be said to stand for very good, B to stand for average, and C for poor. If there is only one rating it is the interior rating.
Vehicle Chart
The vehicle chart is the most useful thing when checking the exterior condition of the vehicle. This chart is from top view with the front of the vehicle facing the top of the sheet. This chart will contain the following letters, which identify the following imperfections.
A - Scratch
U, B - Dent
W - Wave
P - Paint fade
S - Rust
C - Major Rust
X - Damaged part
XX - Replaced part
These letters will most likely be followed by a 1, 2, or 3. This number signifies the severity of the imperfection, with 1 being very minor, 2 being medium, and 3 being large.
Vehicle Specifics
In addition to the other three sources of information the Auction Sheet also outlines many vehicle specifics.

AT, FA, FAT - Automatic transmission.
A/C - Vehicle equipped with air conditioning.
SR - Vehicle equipped with a sunroof.
